Yahoo - Iran: U.S. is in no position to attack:
TEHRAN, Iran -
Iran's foreign minister said Saturday the United States was in no position for another war, and maintained that negotiations β not threats β were the only way to resolve the standoff over its nuclear activities.
And I totally agree. I'm honestly sick of hearing all this crap about Iran getting nuclear weapons, because in all honesty, I think if
any country needs the bomb right now, Iran needs it the most. "But! BUT! They're ISLAMOFASCISTS!" Yeah, and so is Pakistan, and they've done jack shit since getting the bomb-- other than testing it to say, "Look! We have the bomb!" But who cares about Pakistan, they don't have billions of barrels of proven oil reserves, now do they?
Honestly someone just needs to just loan Iran a nuclear weapon to test detonate in their desert. All it would take is that, and Iran would be completely off the table for invasion and back on the table for negotiation and peaceful resolution as a business partner.
Look at North Korea-- all it took was them testing a shoddy version of a nuke underground, and
poof they're safe from invasion. Pakistan was the same way. The USSR, doubly so. No nation that has/had the bomb has ever invaded a nation that also has the bomb... ever. The closest have been invasions of countries that are
allies of bomb-holders, but still no actual invasions of bomb-holders.
"But AmanJihad [misspelled intentionally] is psychotic and would blow everyone up 'cause he thinks he'd be rewarded in the afterlife with virgins!!!" ... and George Bush wouldn't? Actually, Iran would never use nukes because they know they'd be killing innocent muslims in the processes of killing the "evil Americans;" therefore, they wouldn't get the virgins, and they wouldn't get heaven. That aside, I have to let you in on a little secret: rulers might play like they're psychotic, and while some might be murderous, they're hardly suicidal. Beneath the makeup, they're quite intelligent and afraid of death, just like you and me.
No country that has the bomb will ever be invaded by the United States, and it's funny, because of all the countries that should be banned from having nuclear weapons, the United States should be number one on the list. After all, we're the only country in all of history to have actually detonated one over a populated area (Hiroshima). Moreover, we're also the only country in all of history to have detonated another one over a completely seperate populated area (Nagasaki). We're therefore the only country in the world, including the ex-Soviet Union, to have ever used "weapons of mass destruction" on populated areas-- ever. And
we're the people worried about
other countries getting the bomb? Hah.
Iran's just doing the same thing that
any American would do in the same situation. After all, if someone in your neighborhood broke into the neighbors' houses directly to the right and left of you, stole all of their posessions, and killed many of the occupants of the house in the processes of doing so (including many of the women and children), you, as a rational American would probably first and foremost call the police.
Of course, if the police didn't care enough to do something about it this murderous house-stealing thief, and the people who are stealing the houses and killing the owners aren't willing to at least answer your calls unless you toss out your weapons to them, then the only recourse you have is to whip out your Remmy, load it, cock it, and scream, "Back the fuck off or I'll blow ALL of you motherfuckers away, `cuz' you ain't touching my family OR my precious valuables that I have hidden in my sandbox." If you had some C4 on you, you'd probably wire your house as a worst-case scenario failsafe to prevent the fuckers from invading more houses if they happen to get past your defenses.
So, can you honestly tell me that if you were in Iran's place that you'd toss out the one possible chance you have at saving your ass from invasion?
C'mon, guys, we've already got control over the 3rd (Iraq) and 4th (Kuwait) largest proven oil reserves in the world, and Saudi Arabia (1st) is on good terms with us. Do we really need the 2nd (Iran) as well? Isn't that just being greedy? Haven't we already traded enough blood for oil already? Is $3 dollars a gallon really that bad?
Geez. People in this country are fuckin' braindead.
