Response: ... you think I'm an ignorant savage...but still I cannot see if the savage one is me + a bonus, because you internal rhyme them into stupor.

Situation: Someone is a proponent of the War in Iraq.
Response: But I know every rock and tree and creature has a life, has a spirit, has a name.

Situation: Someone uses "islamofascists" in a sentence.
Response: You think the only people who are people are the people who look and think like you.

Situation: Someone thinks you're partisan; someone is making partisan arguments; someone argues against gay marriage; someone argues against medical marijuana; someone argues that HPV vaccinations should be withheld because teens might have more sex
Response: ...but if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew.

Situation: Someone argues that intelligent design should be taught in schools
Response: Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon or asked the grinning bobcat why he grins? I'd really like to hear the chapter/verse that explains the grinning bobcat.

Situation: Someone argues that we should outlaw certain types of foods due to their fat/sugar/psychoactive properties.
Response: Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth.

Situation: Someone argues that taxes should be lowered-- not raised. Someone launches a frivolous lawsuit.
Response: Come roll in all the riches all around you and for once never wonder what they're worth.

Situation: Someone argues pro-pollution, anti-global warming, anti-endangered species lists, and the like.
Response: The rain-storm and the river are my brother-- the heron and the otter are my friends, and we are all connected to each other in a circle, in a hoop that never ends.

Situation: A parent predestines his/her child into a particular field/career.
Response: How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know.

Situation: Someone refuses to have a logical, scientific debate about anything ranging from gay marriage to racism.
Response: And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon, for whether we are white or copper-skinned....

Situation: Someone says "it's impossible."
Response: We need to paint with all the colors of the wind.

Situation: Someone gets pissed off at you.
Response: We need to sing with all the voices of the mountain.

Situation: Someone argues that corporate interests should be favored above the individual.
Response: You can own the earth and still all you'll own is earth.

I say we nominate the song to be the new Bible. Can you imagine how much better the world would be if all of the people who currently read "The Bible" instead simply read "Colors of the Wind?" I mean, they wouldn't even have to watch the whole movie-- just take the song literally as the word of god and be done with it. It's not like we don't have a good idea of what the results would be like. Personally I think that the country could happily survive without churches, reality television, and industrial pollution, don't you? Also, consider this: would it be that much of a frame shift to go from g-string bikinis back to loincloth? It's scary to think that it'd actually be an improvement.
